Biography

Uwe Apel studied aerospace engineering at the
Technical University of Berlin from 1979 bis1984 and a doctorate in the field "Lunar Surface Transport" at the Institute of Aerospace at the TU Berlin in 1989. From 1989 to 1994 he worked for Daimler-Benz Aerospace - aerospace infrastructure (now Airbus Space and Defence) in Bremen , Since 1994 he is professor in the Department
Engineering of the Faculty of Natural and Technology of the University of Bremen and was from 3/1996 to 8/2000 as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.
From 1.9.2000 to 28.02.2011 he was Vice President for Research at the University of Bremen.
Since March 2013 he directs the courses " aerospace engineering (BEng.) "and" Aerospace Technologies (MSc.)
"In the field of research he is engaged in space propulsion, electrical drives for ultralight flight systems, flight robots based unmanned small airships and small dream vehicles and their simulation.
He is currently teaching following areas:
